Congratulations to third-year MD/MPH students Chelsea Williams, Ashley Ceniceros and Adina Goldberger, who along with Joshua Altman from the Kellogg School of Management and Alessandro Culotti from The Graduate School took second place in the Northwestern University’s First Annual Global Health Case Competition. They received $600.
The Northwestern Public Health Review is a new student run journal that focuses on research, projects, ideas and reflections from members of the Northwestern University public health community. The NPHR is a biannual online and in print publication (funded by a TGS catalyst grant) and it's being launched on October 8th. Ethan Kosova, MD, MPH (MD/MPH 2012) is the lead author on an article published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, “The relationships between sugar-sweetened beverage intake and cardiometabolic markers in young children.” Ethan is an internal medicine resident at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
This summer, Edson Carias, a first-year MD/MPH student at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, helped the Howard Brown Health Center (HBHC) develop a social marketing campaign for sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention. The assignment served as part of his master’s in public health field experience.
